Level 2 Teaching Assistant Birmingham

About the role:

Justteachers is seeking an enthusiastic SEN Level 2 Teaching Assistant to support pupils with complex learning difficulties in a specialist SEN school in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a highly supportive team where every day brings the chance to make a meaningful impact on students’ development. The position is due to begin in September 2026, with flexibility for an earlier start for the right person.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide classroom support for pupils with complex SEN and additional needs
• Assist with personal care when required
• Support pupils with communication, sensory, and emotional needs
• Encourage student independence and confidence
• Work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff
• Maintain safeguarding and health & safety procedures at all time

Pre-requisites:

• Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification
• Previous SEN school or care experience preferred
• Understanding of complex needs and challenging behaviour
• Calm and adaptable attitude
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education
