Sales Ledger Manager Location: Derry Salary: 31-32k Employment Type: Permanent

The Opportunity We are currently recruiting for an experienced Sales Ledger Manager to join a well-established organisation based in Derry. This is a varied role with responsibility for overseeing card administration, stock control and reconciliation, invoicing, reporting and the day-to-day management and development of a team. The successful candidate will have strong organisational and people management skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to work effectively with customers and colleagues across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take overall responsibility for all card administration, including 24/7 fuel site stock control, reconciliation and sales invoicing.
  • Oversee depot stock control and reconciliation, assisting with queries as they arise.
  • Monitor 24/7 stock control, including product ordering, storage and handling.
  • Organise and maintain local account master files.
  • Manage local account card records and ensure they are kept up to date.
  • Liaise with Credit Control regarding customer balances, credit terms and related queries.
  • Take ownership of customer complaints and ensure they are resolved in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Work closely with HR to ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
  • Identify training and skills gaps within the team and manage performance through regular appraisals.
  • Assist with recruitment and the training of new employees where required.
  • Train and mentor team members on ledger payment allocation, including cheque and BACS payments.
  • Provide day-to-day mentoring and support to the team, answering queries and addressing coaching requirements.
  • Ensure the team is aware of key competitors and their positioning within the marketplace.
  • Produce weekly, monthly and quarterly site sales reports.
  • Produce weekly, monthly and quarterly site stock reports.
  • Produce monthly commission and bonus payment reports.
  • Undertake any other duties for which you are competent or trained, as requested by the Directors.

About You The successful candidate will have:

  • At least two years’ supervisory experience.
  • Experience of motivating, coaching and training teams.
  • A proven ability to produce reports and mentor staff.
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Good IT skills, including email, Word and Excel.
  • Excellent customer service skills and telephone manner.

Hours

  • 37.5 hours per week, with a one-hour unpaid lunch.
  • Working hours will fall within the department’s operating hours of 8:00am – 6:00pm, Monday to Friday.
  • Saturday morning working may also be required when operationally necessary.
