What it’s like to work here

Nestled in the heart of County Down, Rowallane Garden is one of Northern Ireland’s most beautiful and inspiring gardens. Developed from the vision of Reverend John Moore and his nephew Hugh Armytage Moore, the garden combines formal and informal landscapes, rare and unusual plants, and stunning views across the surrounding countryside.

Today, Rowallane Garden continues to be a place where people can escape the everyday, connect with nature and create lasting memories. From vibrant seasonal displays and historic features to peaceful walks and welcoming café spaces, the garden offers something special for every visitor throughout the year.

As part of the County Down Property Group, alongside Mount Stewart and Castle Ward, you’ll join a passionate and dedicated team committed to caring for these special places and ensuring they can be enjoyed by everyone, for ever. Visitors are at the centre of everything we do, and we take pride in creating warm, welcoming experiences that inspire people to explore, learn and connect with nature, beauty and heritage.

Working here means being part of a collaborative team that values excellence, supports one another and makes a real difference every day.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be joining a busy, supportive and collaborative team that is passionate about delivering outstanding visitor experiences and caring for the special places entrusted to us. We enjoy a challenge, thrive in a dynamic environment, and work together to achieve shared goals, always ready to support one another when needed.

No two days are the same in our Business Services Team. As a key member of the team, you’ll play an important role in supporting day-to-day operations and will often be the first point of contact for colleagues, volunteers and external partners visiting the office. Your professional approach, knowledge and advice will be valued across the wider property team.

We’re looking for someone who is confident, proactive and solutions-focused; someone who takes pride in delivering high-quality business support and maintaining efficient systems and processes. You’ll be an advocate for best practice, continuously looking for ways to improve how we work, and comfortable challenging existing ways of working when you identify opportunities for positive change.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, takes ownership of their work, and wants to make a meaningful contribution as part of a dedicated team.
