Permanent, Full-TimeWere recruiting an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join an established manufacturer and stockholder of specialist stainless steel and nickel alloy products.This is a varied, hands-on position supporting the reliability, maintenance and continued improvement of machinery within a busy metals-processing environment.The Role:
Carrying out planned and reactive mechanical maintenanceDiagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic faultsSupporting the maintenance of production and material-handling equipmentResponding quickly to breakdowns and minimising production downtimeCompleting routine inspections and preventative maintenanceIdentifying recurring faults and carrying out root-cause analysisSupporting machinery upgrades, installations and commissioningDeveloping practical engineering solutions to improve reliability and productivityManaging engineering spares and replacement componentsWorking closely with production and operations teamsMaintaining accurate maintenance and engineering recordsEnsuring all work complies with health and safety requirementsSupporting contractors and external engineering providers when requiredAbout You:
Experience as a Mechanical Engineer, Maintenance Engineer or Mechanical FitterA background in manufacturing, metals processing, heavy engineering or industrial productionStrong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skillsExperience with hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, gearboxes, motors and drive systemsThe ability to read and understand mechanical drawingsA relevant apprenticeship, City & Guilds, NVQ, HNC, HND or engineering qualificationA proactive and hands-on approachThe ability to work independently and as part of a wider production teamA strong commitment to safety and qualityExperience with fabrication, welding, machining or basic electrical fault-finding would be advantageous.Whats on Offer?
