Lead Software Engineer

Overview

In this role you will design, build, and deploy scalable Appian-based workflow and case management solutions at DTCC. You will work closely with business partners and technology teams to deliver high-quality digital capabilities, enforce engineering best practices, and drive performant, maintainable applications. You will contribute to CI/CD, integration efforts, and production support in a collaborative Agile environment. Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy Appian applications (process models, interfaces, records, reports, rules, integrations)
• Develop and support integrations with enterprise systems using REST/SOAP APIs and modern authentication
• Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver innovative business solutions
• Drive code quality through reviews, patterns, and best practices
• Support CI/CD processes, deployments, troubleshooting, and operational excellence
• Improve performance, scalability, and maintainability of applications
• Act as a technical expert on one or more DTCC applications
• Align designs with functional requirements and partner with Infrastructure for hosting
• Tune performance to reduce issues
• Research and evaluate solutions aligned with DTCC standards
• Apply diverse software development methodologies where project needs vary
• Contribute to design and testing of components and provide production support
• Create unit tests to ensure non-functional requirements are met
• Mature ways of working with peers for CI/CD and delivery
• Monitor risk and escalate appropriately

Key requirements

• 7+ years of Appian/BPM development experience
• Strong expertise in Appian Process Models, SAIL, Records/Data Fabric, Security, Reports, Rules, Integrations
• Experience with REST APIs, SQL, relational databases, and Agile methodologies
• Analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Appian Certified Senior Developer (preferred)
• Experience building workflow/case management solutions
• Experience integrating Appian with enterprise apps and cloud platforms
• Exposure to AI-enabled automation, analytics, and DevOps practices
• Financial Services or regulated industry experience is a plus
