Senior DevOps Engineer (Eligible for SC/NPPV3)

Overview

In this Senior DevOps role, you will own cloud infrastructure end-to-end for mission-critical public-sector applications. You’ll collaborate with Solutions Architects to implement significant changes and drive secure, scalable operations across national programmes. You’ll keep CI/CD pipelines fast, reliable, and well-governed while monitoring performance and resource use. The role offers meaningful impact on large-scale systems and an opportunity to influence ways of working in a mission-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Own cloud infrastructure provisioning and day-to-day operations in collaboration with Solutions Architect
• Apply Infrastructure as Code as the default and evolve the setup
• Maintain fast, reliable CI/CD pipelines and proactively fix issues
• Monitor environments for performance, uptime, and resource usage; troubleshoot as needed
• Propose improvements and explore industry best practices; adapt ways of working when justified
• Collaborate with wider teams to deliver DevOps solutions

Key requirements

• Production cloud infrastructure experience on AWS (several years)
• Azure experience is a bonus
• Proficiency with Terraform; Terragrunt is a bonus
• Hands-on Kubernetes and ArgoCD in production
• Automation scripting in Python or Bash
• CI/CD experience with practical deployment thinking and security considerations
