Construction Solicitor – 6-Month FTC
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Construction Solicitor to join an established business on a 6-month fixed-term contract. The role will support a significant capital expenditure project currently underway, working alongside the wider project team and providing legal support as the project progresses. The position would suit a construction lawyer who is comfortable working in a project environment, dealing directly with stakeholders and providing practical, commercially focused legal advice.
The Role
Working as part of the project team, you will provide legal support across a range of construction-related matters, including:
- Advising on construction contracts and project documentation.
- Working with NEC and bespoke construction contracts.
- Supporting the project team with contractual issues as they arise during the project.
- Providing practical advice on contractual risk, obligations and project delivery.
- Working closely with internal stakeholders and other project professionals.
- Dealing with contractors, suppliers and other external parties where required.
- Supporting the business through the ongoing delivery of the project.
- Providing ad hoc construction and contractual advice as required.
This is a hands-on project role, so the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders and communicate clearly with people outside of the legal function will be important.
About You
The ideal candidate will:
- Be a qualified solicitor in England & Wales with solid construction law experience.
- Have experience working with NEC contracts, together with exposure to bespoke construction agreements.
- Have experience of supporting projects or major capital expenditure programmes.
- Be comfortable working directly with stakeholders and project teams.
- Be commercially minded, pragmatic and able to provide clear, practical legal advice.
- Be confident managing contractual issues in a live project environment.
There is no fixed PQE requirement for the role. The key consideration will be the individual’s relevant construction experience and ability to operate effectively within a project environment.

The role is offered on a 6-month FTC, with the expectation that the successful candidate will be able to start within the next month or so.
