Supply Chain Manager

Overview

In this role you will develop and manage the supply chain strategy for major Transmission & Distribution projects, ensuring timely procurement of materials, equipment, and services. You will collaborate with engineering, procurement, construction, and project management to uphold commercial efficiency, supply continuity, and compliance. You will focus on risk mitigation, supplier performance, and end-to-end logistics to support large-scale energy infrastructure. This is a chance to influence sourcing for critical assets like transformers and switchgear within a dynamic project environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement supply chain and procurement strategies for T&D projects
• Lead sourcing, supplier selection, tendering, negotiation, and contract award processes
• Oversee procurement of transformers, switchgear, cables, steelwork, protection systems, and construction services
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and logistics providers
• Monitor supplier performance, lead times, quality, and delivery to meet milestones
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks including shortages and logistics delays
• Coordinate with project teams to align procurement with schedules and budgets
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and contractual obligations
• Support cost control and opportunities for value engineering and optimization
• Maintain procurement records, dashboards, and performance metrics
• Coordinate expediting, logistics, warehousing, and inventory management as needed
• Promote sustainable and ethical procurement practices

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in related field
• 7–10 years in supply chain or procurement within infrastructure, utilities, energy, or construction
• Experience supporting Transmission & Distribution or major infrastructure projects
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes, contract management, and supplier negotiations
• Experience managing long-lead electrical equipment and construction services
• Understanding of EPC, EPCM, or utility delivery frameworks
• Strong commercial awareness and cost management
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Proficiency with ERP and procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
• Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving abilities
