Principal Associate – Construction Disputes

Overview

In this role you join Mills & Reeve’s Legal 500 Tier 1 Professional Indemnity team, primarily based in London with hybrid options. You will defend construction PI claims for professionals and advise insurers on construction coverage, contributing to a growing national Insurance Disputes team. You’ll combine high-value litigation work with client leadership, mentoring junior fee earners and shaping strategic outcomes for insurers and clients.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex, high-value professional indemnity claims
• Advise insurers on construction coverage matters
• Deliver high-quality client service and nurture client relationships
• Supervise and develop junior fee earners and teams
• Balance independent work with collaboration within a wider team structure
• Demonstrate strong time and matter management and adaptability
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders and influence decisions

Key requirements

• 8+ years PQE
• Experience in professional indemnity and/or commercial litigation
• Strong communication and commercial acumen
• Lateral thinking and problem-solving能力
• Excellent interpersonal and team skills
• Ability to supervise others and oversee work of fee earners
• Strong client relationship and management abilities
• Self-starting, proactive, and adaptable
• Experience with construction-related coverage matters or insurers/MGAs is preferred
