Job Description

Barrington Park is a Palladian mansion that sits at the heart of a large private estate in the Cotswolds.

The gardens cover several acres and include:

n

• ·         Walled kitchen garden & greenhouses & cutting garden

n

• ·         Extensive, well-maintained lawns

n

• ·         Grass tennis court

n

• ·         Herbaceous & shrub borders

n

• ·         Paths & woodland walks

n

• ·         Swimming pool

n

• ·         Fruit trees & orchard

n

The successful candidate will need:

n

n
• ·         An NVQ Level 2 qualification (or equivalent).

n

• ·         To be physically fit, energetic and able to work on their own initiative.

n

• ·         To be a team player with a love for gardening.

n

• ·         To be flexible, self-motivated, open to new ideas, and be prepared to assist with other duties from time to time on the estate.

n

• ·         To want to be a part of further developing these gardens.

n

• ·         To be competent with machinery/equipment use and maintenance, including ride on mowers and pedestrian mowers (accreditation for health and safety compliance and a general knowledge of Health and Safety requirements are highly valued but not essential as training will be provided).

28 days holiday per annum, to include the Bank holidays.

n

Salary is competitive and there is a contribution to a pension.

Rent free accommodation will be provided.

It is a full-time job (Mondays to Fridays) and will include 1-2 hours some weekends in summer months to cover opening & closing greenhouse and watering
