Warehouse Operations Manager
Worcester Up to £60,000 per annum
We’re looking for an experienced Warehouse Operations Manager to take ownership of the full warehouse operation for a large, leading foodservice distributor based in Worcester.
This is a high-energy, fast-paced operation where service, accuracy, efficiency and deadlines are critical. You’ll be responsible for leading a busy warehouse and dispatch operation, developing your team, driving continuous improvement and ensuring operational performance consistently meets business and customer expectations.

The Role
As Warehouse Operations Manager, you’ll have overall responsibility for the day-to-day warehouse operation, ensuring the site operates safely, efficiently and effectively.
You will:
- Lead and manage a large warehouse and dispatch operation in a fast-paced environment.
- Take full operational responsibility for warehouse performance, productivity and service levels.
- Lead, motivate and develop a sizeable warehouse team, creating a strong culture of accountability and high performance.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across warehouse processes, systems and ways of working.
- Set clear expectations and KPIs, monitor performance and take appropriate action where required.
- Manage performance effectively, supporting team development while addressing underperformance where necessary.
- Ensure customer orders are picked, checked and dispatched accurately and on time.
- Ensure the operation consistently meets demanding deadlines and service requirements.
- Work closely with other areas of the business to ensure effective stock flow, order fulfilment and dispatch.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs and maximise warehouse productivity.
- Maintain high standards of health & safety, compliance, housekeeping and operational discipline.
- Lead the operation through periods of peak demand, ensuring resources are effectively planned and deployed.
- Coach and develop your management team and wider warehouse workforce.
About You
We’re looking for an experienced warehouse or distribution leader who is comfortable operating in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
You’ll ideally have:
- Proven experience managing a busy warehouse operation, ideally within foodservice, FMCG, retail, grocery or another high-volume distribution environment.
- Strong experience leading and developing large operational teams.
- A track record of driving improvements in warehouse performance, productivity and efficiency.
- Experience managing KPIs, targets and operational performance.
- Confidence in managing people, including performance management and development.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively when working to tight deadlines.
- A hands-on, visible leadership style with the ability to engage and motivate teams.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- The resilience and commercial awareness to thrive in a demanding operational environment.
- A strong focus on health & safety, service and operational standards.
