Site Manager Newcastle

Overview

In this Site Manager role, you’ll support daily site operations at St James Park by coordinating with the project manager and ensuring tasks and safety processes are properly managed. You will oversee site setup, documentation, and compliance to keep work progressing smoothly. The role focuses on safeguarding operations, quality control, and timely issue resolution in a construction environment. This is a hands-on position that offers responsibility in safety, paperwork, and on-site coordination.

Responsibilities

• Set up the site, including welfare and safety areas
• Maintain up-to-date documentation (RAMS/SOPs, sign-ins)
• Ensure permits to work are closed out
• Prepare MEWP rescue plans where applicable; conduct PTW risk assessments
• Check training certifications and toolbox talks
• Manage daily/weekly check sheets and safety information displays
• Monitor hired equipment and fire safety equipment; update fire plans
• Review access and egress areas and ensure safety compliance
• Support on-site coordination with the project manager to resolve issues

Key requirements

• SMSTS (valid)
• CSCS Card (valid)
• First Aid Certificate
• Own tools & PPE
• Basic DBS
• site–based experience
