As a Technical Support Officer in our Midlands region, you will play a key role in delivering added value services to clients and supporting the successful operation of LHCPG frameworks. You’ll track projects once they have been awarded through LHC’s frameworks and ensure that they are running smoothly. Working closely with the Senior Technical Support Manager and the wider LHC team, you will provide both project and technical support, helping clients, partners and contractors to achieve successful procurement and project outcomes. From attending prestart and progress meetings, site visits, reviewing technical documentation, cost management, and mediation between clients and contractors, this is a fantastic opportunity for any construction professionals who are looking to strengthen their knowledge and skills in a wide range of construction principles.
You’ll also act as a trusted point of contact for a range of stakeholders and help ensure compliance with framework requirements, support quality assurance activities, and represent LHC across the construction and procurement sectors.
Key aspects of the role include:
- Supporting projects throughout their lifecycle, from RIBA stages 0 – 7, including attending pre start and progress meetings, monitoring progress and helping to resolve project-related issues as they arise
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with public sector clients, suppliers, contractors and other key stakeholders
- Providing technical support, including the review of tender documentation, validation of contractor pricing and guidance on LHC frameworks and services
- Undertaking site and factory visits to monitor quality, compliance and adherence to specifications
- Promoting LHC’s products and services through stakeholder engagement, industry events and marketing activities
- Tracking projects once they have been awarded to ensure that they are running smoothly
What we are looking for:
You’ll have experience within the construction, building or housing sector and a good understanding of building products, services and project delivery. We’re looking for someone who enjoys building relationships, is comfortable working independently and can provide practical support and advice to a wide range of stakeholders. You’ll also have:
- At least five years’ experience working in a building, construction or housing environment
- A vocational qualification in a building, construction or technical discipline
- A good understanding of construction products, services and technical documentation
- Experience using databases, CRM systems, or platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with everyone from site teams to senior leaders
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload across multiple projects and locations
- A proactive approach to problem-solving, with the confidence to work independently and take ownership of tasks
- The ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with clients, contractors and colleagues
You’ll also need a full UK driving licence and be willing to travel throughout the Midlands and East of England region, including weekly travel to the Uxbridge office in London and occasional overnight stays.
