Full Stack Lead Engineer, Vice President

Overview

In this role you drive full-stack development within Citi’s Finance Technology transformation. You’ll work on cloud-ready architectures and data-driven platforms to modernize core financial systems and enable scalable, compliant solutions. You’ll collaborate with architects and multi-disciplinary teams to design, build, test, and deploy features that support brokerage, risk, and finance workflows. This is an opportunity to shape how technology powers finance at scale with AI-enabled tooling and modern engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver features across front-end and back-end stacks, collaborating with Enterprise Architects and senior engineers
• Contribute to feasibility studies, estimations, and implementation of new or revised systems
• Design, build, test, and maintain secure, reliable applications; ensure quality and maintainability
• Engage in digital applications development, risk technology, and analytic model development to meet user needs
• Participate in design sessions and provide inputs for design decisions and documentation
• Support project planning, feature prioritization, and collaboration with product owners and scrum teams
• Provide risk-aware, compliant, and transparent development practices; escalate control issues as needed
• Continuously improve development processes to accelerate delivery and reduce costs
• Complete relevant technical assessments and pursue certifications as validation of expertise

Key requirements

• Strong experience in full stack development across React, TypeScript, Node.js, Java/Kotlin, and microservices
• Proven track record building robust, scalable financial services applications
• Experience with API development, UI framework design, and modern Java/Spring ecosystems
• Hands-on with frontend testing (Jest, Cypress) and backend testing (JUnit, Mockito)
• Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and container orchestration (OpenShift, Docker, Kubernetes)
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and build/deploy pipelines (Jenkins, UDeploy, Harness, NPM, Maven, Gradle)
• SQL databases (and MongoDB/Oracle) and TDD practices
• Strong communication, initiative, and ability to work in a matrix/global environment
• Experience with observability, middleware, and Gen AI productivity tools is a plus
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
