Database Administrator

Overview

As a Database Administrator, you will own the performance, security, and evolution of production databases and cloud data infrastructure. You will help our multi-product software ecosystem scale, stay resilient, and remain highly available, shaping unified data solutions for intelligence-driven decisions. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to align database architecture with product roadmaps and technical standards. This role offers remote work and the opportunity to impact data strategy and risk management at scale.

Responsibilities

• Keep core platforms running securely and efficiently
• Ensure reliable data flows while protecting sensitive information and maintaining business continuity
• Tune and optimize production MySQL and SQL Server databases for performance
• Design shared data solutions enabling integrated reporting across platforms
• Enforce database security measures including RBAC, auditing, encryption, and patching
• Design and test geo-redundant backups and disaster recovery strategies
• Coordinate with product managers, engineers, and senior leaders to align architecture with roadmaps
• Establish proactive monitoring/alerting and provide out-of-hours support when needed

Key requirements

• Experience managing production MySQL and SQL Server databases
• Strong performance tuning and indexing/query optimisation
• Cloud experience with Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform and managed cloud database services
• SQL query writing, reviewing, and fine-tuning
• Solid understanding of database security, disaster recovery, and schema deployments using version control
• Experience setting up automated health checks, monitoring, and capacity planning
