Senior Manager – Business Management

Overview

In this Senior Manager role, you will lead Business Management for the Finance Platform within the Finance Chief Operating Office, delivering governance, insight and financial discipline to maximise value across a major investment portfolio. You will partner with FCOO leaders, Platform and Lab leads, and Finance/Technology teams to optimise investment, costs and resource alignment. The role focuses on performance, forecasting, workforce planning and driving productivity at pace and scale. You will shape priorities, provide strategic insight, and help deliver the wider transformation agenda.

Responsibilities

• Drive performance and value with governance and insight to support decisions
• Lead Business Management across the Finance Platform and ensure strong connectivity with FCOO, Finance and Technology
• Shape priorities and investment decisions to align resources with high-value outcomes
• Provide strategic insight and constructive challenge to Platform, Lab and FCOO leaders
• Strengthen financial rigor through forecasting, planning and governance of investment and BAU
• Lead workforce planning and performance management for scalable operations
• Drive productivity and continuous improvement through simplification, automation and better outcomes
• Develop executive insight and governance materials to support decision-making

Key requirements

• Experience in business management, performance, finance, strategy or operational leadership within a large, complex organisation
• Strong business and commercial insight using data to identify opportunities and value
• Excellent data literacy and analytical capability to translate information into insight
• Strong storytelling and communication skills to influence senior stakeholders
• Proven ability to build trusted relationships across teams and leadership levels
• Critical thinking and problem-solving using challenge, judgement and evidence
• Experience leading teams and developing colleague capability in high-performing environments
• Experience in financial management, investment governance and workforce planning across complex portfolios
• Interest in emerging technologies, automation and AI to improve ways of working
• Desirable: professional finance qualification; experience in financial services, large-scale transformation programmes or platform operating models
