Senior Commercial & Data Privacy Solicitor

Overview

In this role you will blend high‑quality commercial contracts work with specialist data protection and privacy advisory for growing businesses. You will work closely with founders, leadership teams and in‑house stakeholders to support growth and complex technology matters. You’ll handle a mix of contract drafting, privacy compliance, and data protection counsel, contributing to the firm’s expanding practice. This is an opportunity to shape client relationships and play a key part in business development within a collaborative, entrepreneurial culture. You will operate at the intersection of commercial and privacy work to deliver practical, market‑leading solutions.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts including supply, terms and conditions, agency and distribution, introducer and outsourcing agreements
• Advise on SaaS agreements, software licences, technology contracts and related commercial arrangements
• Provide day‑to‑day UK GDPR and data protection advice
• Draft privacy policies, data processing agreements and cookie policies
• Advise on DSARs, international data transfers, controller/processer arrangements, electronic marketing and special category data
• Support corporate transactions with input on commercial and data protection matters
• Build and maintain client relationships and contribute to business development initiatives

Key requirements

• Strong commercial contracts experience
• Excellent working knowledge of UK GDPR and data protection law
• Experience advising on technology and software agreements
• Strong drafting, negotiation and communication skills
• Commercial and pragmatic problem‑solving approach
• Ability to manage multiple matters and build trusted client relationships
• Experience in in‑house or secondments or advising founders would be advantageous
