Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of heavy civil structures and enabling works
• Guide projects from concept to construction and lead design reviews
• Mentor and develop junior engineers; foster multidisciplinary collaboration
• Engage with clients, contractors and external stakeholders to manage expectations
• Ensure technical quality, risk management and compliance with codes
• Apply knowledge of UK design codes, Eurocodes and construction standards
• Support business development and delivery of diverse projects across sectors

Key requirements

• Extensive design experience in civil/structural elements including heavy concrete works, buried structures, and retaining systems
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (TEDDS, Tekla, Robot, STAAD)
• Demonstrated leadership on multidisciplinary projects and mentoring ability
• Strong understanding of UK design codes and Eurocodes
• Client-facing and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to lead design reviews and manage project risks
• Chartered or near-chartered status with ICE or IStructE
• MEng or BEng in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
