Overview

In this role you will join Chadwick Nott’s established Employment & Immigration team in Swindon to handle a varied caseload for local SMEs to international clients. You will work closely with partners and senior lawyers, delivering advice, drafting policies and handling disputes, with the option to focus on pure employment work or include immigration. The role offers hybrid working, strong support, and a clear path for career development within a collaborative culture. You will help shapes client solutions and cross-sell opportunities while contributing to the firm’s growth.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a varied caseload with appropriate supervision
  • Take client instructions and align on expectations
  • Develop client relationships with smaller clients
  • Draft policies, handbooks, contracts and employment documentation
  • Advise on disciplinary, grievance, TUPE and discrimination matters
  • Prepare and progress advocacy and negotiate settlements
  • Assist with settlement agreements and termination negotiations
  • Ensure compliance with SRA principles, risk management and file reviews
  • Support marketing initiatives, articles, and networking events
  • Spot cross-selling opportunities and build internal referral networks
  • Contribute to BD projects and raise personal profile
  • Support junior fee earners and delegate tasks
  • Work flexibly and collaboratively across the team
  • Manage time recording, WIP and billing effectively
  • Align personal objectives with departmental strategy
  • Contribute ideas for business improvements and innovation

Key requirements

  • NQ-5 years’ PQE with at least one Employment seat
  • Ability to manage own files with minimal supervision
  • Strong client management skills and excellent service delivery
  • Strong organizational skills and prioritization
  • Commercial awareness and a proactive approach
  • Interest in developing expertise in employment and/or immigration
