Chief Digital and Information Officer

Overview

As Chief Digital and Information Officer you will lead LAS’s digital and data initiatives within the Executive Leadership Team, shaping strategy and delivery for technology, data, AI and security. You’ll drive transformation to improve patient care, operational performance and staff experience, while maintaining safe, reliable 24/7 technology operations. You will form strong partnerships with internal clinicians and external partners to turn ideas into practical solutions and oversee the digital capital investments. This is a high-impact role at the heart of London’s health system.

Responsibilities

• Lead digital transformation, data/BI, technology services, cyber security, information risk, AI and automation
• Act as Senior Information Risk Owner, advising the CEO and Board on safe use of information and technology
• Oversee resilient technology operations and large-scale portfolio with cross-functional collaboration
• Identify innovative, practical solutions to operational challenges and drive progress within public-sector constraints
• Build and manage a large directorate, including budget and digital capital investment
• Develop relationships with technology companies, suppliers, academia and partners
• Help advance data analytics to improve patient care, performance and workforce experience
• Balance strategic vision with delivery within complex NHS environment

Key requirements

• Masters degree in a business or technical related discipline or equivalent experience
• Proven experience leading substantial digital, data and technology portfolios
• Experience overseeing cyber security and information risk in complex, safety-critical settings
• Strong leadership of large teams and budgets in public or large private organisations
• Ability to translate ideas into practical, funded solutions and to work with clinical/operational colleagues
