Security Engineer III

Overview

In this role you will design and implement security solutions for an enterprise-scale environment, focusing on preventing misuse and ensuring audit defensibility. You will contribute technically across security engineering domains, building secure production deployments and high-quality code. You will collaborate with internal teams and vendors to understand security needs and evolve controls in response to industry guidance. This position offers impact by strengthening software security at scale within a leading global bank.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain security solutions for an enterprise-scale environment
• Understand functions of systems engineering, systems integrations, and systems administration
• Execute on key deliverables in the security engineering space
• Design and develop production deployments with non-routine approaches for key stakeholders
• Develop secure and high-quality production code and review/debug code written by others
• Implement complex business logic in Python, Bash, PowerShell, and other scripting languages
• Engage effectively with third-party vendors and cross-functional internal teams
• Minimize security vulnerabilities by incorporating industry insights and regulatory requirements to evolve controls
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand security needs and recommend business modifications during vulnerabilities

Key requirements

• Formal training or certification in security engineering concepts and practical experience
• Experience with cloud engineering, deployment engineering, DevOps engineering, or equivalent
• Experience deploying commercial software at scale into an enterprise environment
• Proven ability to plan, design, and implement enterprise-level security solutions
• Strong working knowledge of Windows and Linux systems internals
• Strong experience with infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, and automation tooling
• Proficiency in a programming/scripting language for automation
• Proficiency in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Proficiency in cloud technologies (e.g., AWS security)
• Strong analytical skills and problem-solving mindset
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies (CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security)
