Head of Asset Management

Overview

In this interim role you will provide strategic leadership for the asset management and investment function within a leading Greater Manchester housing provider. You’ll oversee the £25m annual capital programme, shape the HRA 30-year plan, and ensure rigorous condition surveying across a £1bn stock portfolio. You’ll drive Building Safety, Decent Homes, and Zero Carbon work, partnering with the council, contractors and residents. This is a high-impact public-sector property role focused on delivering value, safety and modernisation at scale.

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic asset & investment team to deliver priorities
• Oversee the £25m annual capital programme
• Develop and deliver the HRA 30-year capital programme
• Ensure accurate and timely condition surveying for the £1bn stock portfolio
• Lead Building Safety, Decent Homes, Zero Carbon and Environmental Works for the £1bn portfolio
• Develop and implement the HRA strategic asset management and investment strategy in partnership with political and senior stakeholders, partners, contractors and residents

Key requirements

• Significant social housing knowledge
• Understanding of public services delivered at place level
• Knowledge of the national and regional policy context for local government and social housing
• Previous managerial experience within social housing
