Overview

In this role you will drive growth for Serco’s Defence portfolio by identifying opportunities within existing contracts and capabilities. You’ll work with operational leaders, contract managers and growth teams to shape opportunities and ensure governance and delivery of in-contract growth. You’ll build strong relationships with Defence customers and partners, coordinate governance activities, and represent Serco at events. This is a chance to influence Defence programmes and contribute to essential public services with cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop organic growth opportunities across the Defence portfolio with customers, operations and stakeholders
  • Support contract managers and delivery teams to qualify and progress in-contract growth opportunities
  • Manage Defence framework activity and ensure governance requirements are met
  • Maintain opportunity pipelines and reporting in MS Dynamics and internal systems
  • Coordinate governance activities (gate reviews, reporting, SMS compliance)
  • Collaborate with bid teams, technical specialists and operations to shape customer solutions
  • Build and maintain relationships with Defence customers, internal stakeholders and SME partners
  • Represent Serco at customer meetings, conferences and industry events
  • Capture lessons learned to improve future opportunities and delivery

Key requirements

  • Experience in the UK Defence sector
  • Experience identifying, developing or managing growth within existing accounts or contracts
  • Knowledge of public sector procurement processes and framework agreements
  • Experience managing opportunities or bids through governance processes
  • Strong stakeholder management and ability to influence in a matrix organisation
  • Experience using CRM or opportunity management systems (e.g., MS Dynamics)
  • Excellent communication, organisational and relationship-building skills
