Your new role As Senior HR Officer, you will support the delivery of the full range of HR activity across all departments, providing a consistent and high-quality service to employees and managers.Reporting to the HR Manager, you will take ownership of complex employee relations matters, including absence management, disciplinary and grievance processes, and cases up to and including dismissal. You will coach line managers, provide practical HR advice and ensure policies and procedures are applied fairly and consistently.

You will also coordinate recruitment processes, chair shortlisting and interview panels, prepare contracts and HR correspondence, maintain HR systems, produce management reports and contribute to HR projects, wellbeing, corporate social responsibility and community outreach activities.What you’ll need to succeed

  • A minimum of five years’ experience working in a generalist HR role at HR Officer level or equivalent
  • Demonstrable experience managing complex employee relations matters
  • Practical experience across absence management, disciplinary and grievance processes
  • Previous experience coaching and supporting line managers and employees
  • A CIPD qualification and/or a relevant third-level qualification in Human Resources
  • Up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation and its practical application
  • Strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Excellent analytical, planning and organisational skills
  • The ability to work independently while contributing effectively to the wider HR team
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Manufacturing or a similarly operational, high-ER environment would be advantageous

What you’ll get in return You will receive a salary of £37,000 to £42,000 in a full-time position offering genuine breadth and responsibility across the HR function. The role is on-site with an early Friday finish at 2pm.
