Technician – Safety Product Testing
to join its established Safety Product Testing team in Kettering.The Opportunity
The successful candidate will join a team responsible for testing a wide range of
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
for customers across the UK and internationally.The department operates accredited laboratories with specialist testing equipment, assessing PPE against International and European standards to ensure products meet required levels of protection.Products tested include:Gloves and hand protectionFall protection equipmentMotorcycle garmentsHigh-visibility clothingSafety eyewearHelmetsHearing protectionChainsaw garmentsKneepadsSports protectionA wide range of other PPE productsThis is a practical and varied opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, working with equipment and following detailed testing procedures.
Full training will be provided where required.Key Responsibilities
The Technician will be responsible for:Carrying out routine physical testing of PPE in accordance with International and European standardsOperating specialist test equipment and machineryAccurately recording test results on paperwork and electronic systemsPreparing samples prior to testingMaintaining a clean, tidy and organised laboratory environmentManaging and maintaining sample storage areasSupporting Technologists when customers visit the laboratoryWorking both independently and as part of a wider technical teamEnsuring testing is completed accurately and in line with required proceduresAbout the Successful Candidate
The role would suit someone who is
reliable, methodical and hands-on , with excellent attention to detail and the ability to remain focused when carrying out routine or repetitive testing.Applicants should have:GCSE Grade C or above in
Maths, English and ScienceGood computer skills, including
Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams and OutlookGood written and verbal communication skillsStrong attention to detail and a thorough approach to workGood time management and organisational skillsThe ability to work independently and as part of a teamA reliable and positive approach to workEnthusiasm and a willingness to learn and developDesirable Experience
