The successful candidate will work within a dedicated Furniture Flammability department, carrying out testing to British, European and international standards and helping ensure furniture products are safe and fit for purpose.The Role
As a Furniture Flammability Technician, your responsibilities will include:Preparing and conditioning samples ready for testingCarrying out testing to British, European and International StandardsPlanning and agreeing testing schedulesMaintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation within laboratory areasRecording and reporting test results accuratelyFollowing detailed procedures and instructions to ensure testing is completed to the required standardsWorking to agreed deadlines and schedulesAbout You
We are looking for someone who is organised, reliable and detail-focused, with a genuine interest in developing a career within a technical testing environment.Essential requirements:GCSE Maths, English and Science at Grade C/Grade 5 or aboveExcellent written and verbal communication skillsGood computer skills, including Microsoft Word and ExcelStrong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accuratelyGood organisational, planning and time-management skillsAbility to work effectively to deadlinesComfortable working independently and as part of a teamFlexible, tenacious and able to demonstrate a positive, ‘can-do’ attitudeDesirable:Experience within the furniture industryPrevious experience working in a regulated laboratory environmentExperience testing consumer productsFull, clean UK driving licenceWhat’s on Offer?
