DevOps Engineer – FinTech startup

Overview

As DevOps Engineer, you will help scale a multi-tenant production cluster and drive automated deployment, from OS install to UI and tests. You will work closely with the core app team in a fast-paced, agile environment to implement continuous deployment, data-centre affinity, and workload management. You’ll contribute to improvements across build, performance, security, OS, networking, and monitoring, shaping the architecture and evangelising new technologies. Responsibilities

• Develop new capabilities for continuous deployment and workload management
• Improve build, performance, security, operating systems, networking, and monitoring
• Participate in agile ceremonies and collaborate with the core app team
• Contribute to architecture shaping and technology evangelism
• Prototype and pilot new technologies to accelerate delivery and reliability
• Manage multi-tenant production environments and data centre affinity
• Support production deployment and automated testing pipelines

Key requirements

• Expertise in at least one discipline within DevOps (e.g., systems, security, data, or platform engineering)
• Proficiency with Red Hat Linux on bare metal and virtual machines
• Provisioning experience using Puppet, Kickstart, and RPM
• Programming/scripting: Bash, Ruby, Python, Java, Clojure
• Security experience with Kerberos, SELinux, LDAP
• Big Data exposure: HDFS, Flink, Kafka
• Containerization and virtualization: Docker, KVM
• Schedulers: YARN, Kubernetes
