Take the Lead in a Growing Business

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial Financial Controller / Director to join a successful and expanding SME / International business. This is a hands-on role where you’ll lead the finance function, provide commercial insight, and play a key part in shaping business strategy.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Leading the day-to-day finance function.
• Producing monthly management accounts, budgets and forecasts.
• Managing cash flow, financial reporting and KPI analysis.
• Supporting strategic decision-making through commercial finance and profitability analysis.
• Improving financial systems, controls and reporting processes.
• Overseeing payroll, credit control, VAT, compliance and year-end processes.
• Partnering with sales, operations and production teams to support business growth.

About You

You’ll be a commercially focused finance professional with:

• At least 5 years’ experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance position.
• Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience.
• Excellent commercial awareness and analytical skills.
• Experience within an SME environment.
• Knowledge of UK accounting standards and financial controls.
• Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting software.
• The confidence to influence senior stakeholders and improve business performance.
• Desirable: ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification, along with experience in manufacturing, technology, engineering or international trading environments.
