About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Programme Officer (Initial Teacher Training – ITT) to join the School of Education, Communication & Society at King’s College London. This is a specialist programme administration role supporting professionally regulated ITT provision and working closely with academic colleagues, students, schools and other external partners.

Reporting to the Senior Education Manager, the post holder will take responsibility for the day-to-day coordination and delivery of the ITT programmes across the annual programme cycle. This includes leading the administration of school placements and programme assessment, coordinating assessment boards, maintaining accurate student and programme data, supporting DfE reporting and regulatory requirements, and contributing to quality assurance and Ofsted inspection readiness.

They will also line manage a Programme Officer, providing clear direction, support and prioritisation to ensure the effective delivery of programme administration.

The role requires the post holder to develop specialist knowledge of teacher education, professional and regulatory requirements and University processes. They will work autonomously to manage competing priorities and deadlines, resolve operational issues and identify opportunities to improve processes and the student experience. The post holder will build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and use sound judgement to determine when issues can be resolved independently and when escalation is required.

This is a varied and fast-paced role, particularly at key points in the academic cycle and school year, and would suit someone who is organised, resilient and confident working independently within a complex professional education environment.

This is a full-time post (35 hours per week), offered on an indefinite contract. Our School operates a hybrid working policy.
