The role involves assisting with the preparation, updating, and monitoring of project programs, timelines, and resource schedules in line with client and internal requirements. The Assistant Planner will help collect and analyze project data, maintain planning records, and contribute to progress reports and risk assessments. Day-to-day activities include coordinating with project managers, site teams, and office staff to ensure accurate information flow, updating planning software and documentation, and supporting the identification of efficiencies and value engineering opportunities. The role also includes maintaining compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards and supporting continuous improvement in planning processes.Qualifications
- Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to manage schedules, timelines, and project documentation accurately.
- Competence in MS Office (especially Excel) and familiarity with project planning or scheduling software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) is beneficial.
- Good analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail in reviewing data, reports, and program information.
- Clear and professional communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with site teams, project managers, and office staff.
- Understanding of construction processes, health and safety principles, and basic commercial awareness within the construction industry.
- Ability to work on-site in Tilbury, demonstrating reliability, adaptability, and a proactive approach to learning.
- Relevant education in construction, engineering, project management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
