Maintenance Manager – Portsmouth City Centre

• Salary: Circa £34,000 + 6-monthly performance bonuses and excellent benefits
• Location: Portsmouth / Southsea (covering 6 student accommodation sites)

The RoleLead and inspire a skilled team of 8 technicians delivering exceptional maintenance across 6 student accommodation sites in Portsmouth city centre. You will oversee student living areas, communal kitchens, laundries, and entertainment spaces.

Key Responsibilities

• Operations & Maintenance: Manage planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules, routine checks, and urgent fault-finding/emergency call-outs.
• Technical Scope: Oversee electrical, mechanical, heating, plumbing, fire, security, and structural building elements.
• Contractor & Supply Chain Management: Source specialist contractors, negotiate best rates, and ensure reliable supplier performance.
• Team Leadership: Lead, develop, and manage your team of skilled trades.

What We Are Looking For

• Proven experience in managing skilled trades and building maintenance operations.
• Strong working knowledge of health and safety legislation, statutory compliance, and building systems.
• Ability to source contractors and manage supplier costs effectively.
• Note: Successful candidates will undergo a DBS check prior to employment.

Working Hours

• 5-day working week, including participation in a management duty roster (covering 1 weekend in 7, plus 1 late or early shift per week)
