We’re working with a leading global bank looking to hire a Front Office Quantitative Analyst into a small, highly technical quantitative team supporting its Markets business.
About the Role
Front Office Quantitative Analyst
London – Hybrid, 2 days per week in the office
Up to £115,000 plus competitive bonus and benefits
This is a particularly broad quant role. Rather than being siloed into a single currency, product or narrow area of a pricing library, you’ll have the opportunity to work across interest rates, FX and commodities, developing the models and analytics used directly by trading desks for pricing and risk management.
The team is small, giving individuals significant ownership and exposure across the full modelling lifecycle and the opportunity to work on a wide variety of quantitative problems.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement quantitative models and analytics for the pricing and risk management of derivatives
- Work across multiple asset classes, including interest rates, FX and commodities
- Apply advanced mathematical techniques including stochastic calculus, martingale methods and numerical methods to real-world derivatives problems
- Work directly with front-office trading teams to understand requirements and develop appropriate quantitative solutions
- Implement models and analytics using Python and/or C++
- Work across model development, calibration, pricing, risk and numerical implementation
- Partner with Model Validation to take new models and analytics through the appropriate validation and approval processes
- Contribute to the continued development of the team’s quantitative libraries and modelling infrastructure
- Take genuine ownership of quantitative problems rather than working on one narrow component of a much larger platform
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience working as a Front Office Quant / Derivatives Quant
- Excellent mathematical foundations, particularly in stochastic calculus, martingales and numerical methods
- Strong derivatives pricing and modelling knowledge
- Strong programming ability in Python and/or C++
- Experience working directly with traders and understanding front-office requirements
- Experience across interest rates, FX or commodities – you do not need to have covered every asset class
- The mathematical breadth and curiosity to move between different products, models and quantitative problems
Preferred
- PhD in Mathematics or Physics
Compensation
Up to £115,000 base salary plus competitive bonus and benefits package.
Why Join?
The breadth of the role is one of its biggest attractions. In larger quant organisations, responsibilities can become extremely specialised. Here, you’ll join a small team with a genuinely broad remit, giving you exposure to different asset classes, models and trading problems while allowing you to take meaningful ownership of your work.
The environment combines technically challenging front-office quant work with an excellent work-life balance and a strong, relaxed team culture. The team works on a hybrid basis with just two days per week in the London office and offers a flexible approach to working hours.
Retention within the team is exceptionally strong, with a number of individuals having built long-term careers within the organisation.
