There is also strong evidence from the Council’s own housing papers that this role sits within its wider Building Safety / Housing Health & Safety compliance arrangements, including work around high-rise housing, the Building Safety Regulator, fire safety and Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (PEEPs).
The council has reported:
All 45 high-rise residential council blocks had been registered with the Building Safety Regulator;
The Council’s compliance work covers fire risk and fire risk assessments;
Tts sheltered housing properties had individual PEEPs for residents;
The Council was considering arrangements/funding for introducing PEEPs more widely; and
A dedicated Building Compliance & Services Team had been established within Housing Investment & Asset Management
Role is responsible for building-safety compliance across the portfolio, including:
- Developing, reviewing and maintaining Building Safety Cases
- Ensuring compliance with the Building Safety Act and associated regulations
- Providing specialist building-safety advice
- Supporting and overseeing safety-related projects and remedial works
- Monitoring and validating compliance
- Maintaining evidence and records for regulatory requirements
- Working with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Delivering PEEPs within allocated blocks
- Supporting compliance and fire-safety works
- Supporting Building Safety Regulator requirements.
