Managing the procurement process, including tender documentation, contractor selection, contract placement, and project delivery. Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, including CDM Regulations, Supply of Machinery Regulations, environmental requirements, and Tata Steel engineering standards. Supporting manufacturing and engineering teams with specialist mechanical engineering expertise. Managing project budgets, schedules, risks, and resources to ensure successful project outcomes. Liaising with internal stakeholders, suppliers, contractors, consultants, and external authorities. Promoting and maintaining the highest standards of Health, Safety, Environmental, and Process Safety performance.
What You Will Have
Essential
- Degree, HND, or HNC qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience in mechanical engineering, project engineering, or project delivery within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- The ability to work collaboratively across all levels of an organisation.
- Strong decision-making and stakeholder management capabilities.
- A commitment to high standards of Health, Safety, and Environmental performance.
Desirable
- Prince2 or equivalent project management qualification.
- Experience planning and delivering capital projects.
- Knowledge of CDM Regulations and their application.
- Understanding of SAP budgetary controls, capital accounts, and capital approval processes.
- Experience working with continuous strip coating lines, metallic and painted products, cold rolling, or finishing operations.
- Experience managing contractors and external suppliers.
- Experience of solid modelling software and the principles of Engineering design.
