Overview

As Development Chef at Greencore, you will create eye-catching meals concepts and lead culinary exploration aligned with customer briefs. You’ll support the NPD process from concept to launch, ensuring quality and culinary excellence across our meals range. Working with cross-functional teams, you’ll contribute to trials, scale‑ups, and customer presentations, shaping products for nationwide availability. You’ll stay ahead of market trends and bring fresh ideas to a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role offers ownership, collaboration, and the chance to influence products used by thousands of shoppers.

Responsibilities

  • Develop innovative food concepts and recipes aligned with customer briefs and market trends
  • Support the NPD process from concept to launch with high culinary and quality standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Technical, Process, and Commercial
  • Attend customer presentations and contribute ideas and developments
  • Provide culinary support during factory trials and product scale-up
  • Maintain up-to-date understanding of market and food trends
  • Regular travel between sites and to Tesco head office in London

Key requirements

  • Experienced Chef with industry-recognised qualifications (e.g. NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in hospitality or food manufacturing
  • Strong creative flair with passion for innovation and food trends
  • Self-motivated and organized, able to work independently and within a team
