About the Role
As a Children’s Residential Support Worker you will be responsible for delivering high-quality care and support to children and young people living in residential settings. Your role will be pivotal in promoting their emotional, physical and psychological wellbeing while working within a therapeutic and innovative framework.
Candidate Responsibilities
- Provide safe, consistent, and child-centred care to children and young people.
- Support emotional and psychological wellbeing, fostering a positive environment.
- Work as part of a team to develop and review individual care plans.
- Promote equality, inclusion, and safeguard every child in your care.
- Support children in developing personal hygiene, life skills, and acceptable behavioural standards.
- Engage children in educational, leisure, and social activities, including trips and holidays.
- Follow safeguarding policies, report any concerns immediately, and maintain professional boundaries.
- Participate in team meetings, training, and reflective practice.
- Undertake household duties like cooking, cleaning, and caring for children who are unwell.
- Be flexible with working hours, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins, to meet service needs.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience working with children and young people is desirable.
- Willingness to work towards relevant qualifications in Children and Young People’s Services.
- Full UK driving Licence is desirable
- Enhanced DBS
