Salary: Grade 8, SCP 12-20: £25,153 – £28,670 per annum* (subject toexperience) *Salary quoted before 2026 pay award*
Contract: Permanent, 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time plus inset days)
*The salary quoted reflects the annual salary forthe position at the time of advertising. Payment will be made in equal monthlyinstalments and will be adjusted at the start of employment, and again ifemployment ends partway through the school year, to ensure the correct salaryis paid for work completed during the academic year.
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, well-organisedand committed Cover Manager to plan and allocate daily cover for planned andunplanned staff absences. You will co-ordinate and support the daily timetablefor Cover Supervisors and supply staff, ensuring agreed lesson plans aredelivered effectively and efficiently while maintaining good order.
The role is Monday to Friday, with core working hours of7.15am to 3.15pm.
As a small school, the role involves managing day-to-daycover as well as supervising whole classes during teachers’ absences. Thisincludes liaising with Cover Supervisors and teachers to cover absences thatarise during the school day, and booking rooms and updating the school calendarfor meetings and events.
The successful Cover Manager will have excellent communication and time management skills, with strong proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel. Experience of Arbor would be desirable.
SAST will conduct online searches of shortlistedcandidates. Safeguarding responsibilities associated with this rolemay include engagement in regulatory activity, such as administering first aidor supporting an upset child. It will have contact with young people onaday-to-day basis. The successful candidate will have to meet theperson specification, and the post is subject to safeguarding checks, includingan enhanced DBS check and Children’s Barred List check.
