SEN Teaching Assistant

Choice Teachers are working with a specialist SEN education setting in South Cambridge to recruit a Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is energetic, hands on and keen to develop a career within specialist education.
The setting supports young people with complex learning needs and additional needs, providing a highly personalised approach to education and development.
You will work as part of a close team, supporting pupils both academically and with their wider personal development, communication and independence.
The Role
Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis
Supporting pupils with complex SEN and learning needs
Helping pupils develop communication, independence and life skills
Building strong and trusting relationships
Supporting practical, sensory and outdoor learning activities
Assisting teachers with classroom activities
Providing consistent and positive support throughout the school day
Working as part of a multidisciplinary specialist team
We’re Looking For
Energetic, enthusiastic and hands on
A genuine interest in working with children and young people with additional needs
Patient, resilient and willing to learn
Previous SEN, care, education, youth work or support experience is ideal but not essential
A full driving licence would be advantageous but not essential
Enhanced DBS required
Must be available full time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm
This role would suit a graduate, sports coach, youth worker, support worker, aspiring teacher or experienced Teaching Assistant looking to take the next step into specialist SEN education.
You’ll receive valuable experience working alongside experienced professionals and have the opportunity to develop your skills within a genuinely specialist environment.
