Operations Ramp Supervisor

Overview

In this role you will oversee ramp operations at the EMA Hub, ensuring safe unloading and loading of air cargo and on-time distribution. You collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain regulatory compliance and efficient throughput. You drive safety, planning, and staff development while supporting continuous improvement initiatives. This position offers an opportunity to lead a frontline team in a fast-paced aviation hub and contribute to reliable network performance.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate safe ramp operations through effective staff and resource management
• Ensure activities comply with Company and International Standards (Health and Safety at Work Act, Aviation Security Act, GSOP/Q-Pulse)
• Meet deadlines and schedules
• Liaise with external third-party customers
• Support DHL Core operations as required
• Identify training requirements
• Input LRT data
• Support continuous improvement initiatives
• Handle narrow and wide-bodied aircraft operations
• Facilitate CIS & EOS processes
• Manage team including time and absence
• Advise on conflict, grievances, and disciplinary procedures
• Provide development and motivational feedback
• Conduct quarterly team Check-Ins
• Encourage participation in Employee Opinion Survey and action follow-up
• Motivate, mentor and support staff to build high-performing teams
• Oversee Health and Safety compliance for team and area
• Maintain understanding of Health and Safety Policy and associated risks

Key requirements

• Clear knowledge of Ramp and Hub operations
• Safety-first attitude
• Understanding of Ground Support Equipment used in operation
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Self-confident with ability to lead and motivate staff
• Ability to prioritise workload of self and others
• Ability to make dynamic decisions
• Strong planning and organisational skills
• Ability to interact with staff from other departments
• Clear understanding of EOS & CIS and its importance to the business
• Operations background (preferable)
• Must meet criteria for issue of an Airport Pass
• Must hold a full driving licence
