We are looking for 2moreMentors to work 1-1 with young people who need unconditional positive regard and support to reach their potential.Generallylet down by our rigid education system they respond well toanurturingand graduatedapproach. As we increasein popularity and size we need more staff. You may have worked as a Teaching Assistant (or equivalent name) in a mainstream or special school; as a youth worker; in social care or as a parent; we are open to all applications.
A session with a young person is 3 hours; door to door for them! We prefer drivers but it is not essential. You may work with them at Our Cabin near Hoar Park; cooking,learningor chilling.Alternatively,we have amulti-usespace at Unit 5 on Pool Road”The Place”and a designated mechanics basenext doorat Unit 6. Sessions also use the community-particularlyfor life skills. Our aim is to give young people the skills and qualifications they need for employment; this includes Functional Skills and AQAunitawards.Our young people are currently13 to 20; we are registered for ages5to25.
These posts are offered at 42 weeks (school terms + 3 weeks, flexible holiday) a year withan ACTUAL salary ofMentor level 1 £22,336 to Mentor level 3 £26,413. Promoted posts with leadership skillsare envisagedin the near futureon our scales of Mentor level 4 £28,586 to Mentor level 6£33,519.(Theequivalentfull timeannual salariesareMentor1 £27,654 to Mentor 6 £41,500.) Salaries are decided by the directors based on skills and experience.
