SailPoint Engineering Lead

Overview

In this hybrid role in London, you will lead the design, build and operational excellence of SailPoint Identity Governance capabilities while owning the platform roadmap. You will blend hands-on engineering with product ownership, guiding JML automation and policy governance to meet regulatory commitments. You’ll mentor engineers and align senior stakeholders to deliver a trusted IAM service that scales with business needs. Responsibilities

• Lead design, build and maintenance of SailPoint Identity Security Cloud (ISC) solutions including connectors, provisioning workflows and access certifications
• Own and prioritise the SailPoint/IGA backlog and roadmap, balancing risk, compliance deadlines and stakeholder demand
• Oversee development of Joiner, Mover & Leaver automation integrating HR systems (Oracle HCM) with SailPoint
• Define and govern SoD policies, role models and access certification campaigns
• Act as senior technical authority for IAM, covering Identity Governance and Administration
• Drive solution development with automation, security controls, policies and standards
• Mentor IAM team members and drive process improvements and documentation
• Oversee configuration and troubleshooting of SCIM, REST and connectors, hands-on when needed
• Author/review custom rules, workflows, Beanshell/Java scripts and Python automation
• Govern access certification cycles, entitlement management and role mining
• Oversee platform health, provisioning/deprovisioning and audit trail integrity
• Lead sprint planning, backlog grooming and roadmap reviews
• Own roadmap status communications for leadership and stakeholders
• Oversee user lifecycle: onboarding, offboarding and account updates
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations; escalate risks
• Own audit remediation responses and escalation handling
• Provide senior input for escalated issues and support tickets

Key requirements

• Extensive hands-on IAM/IGA engineering experience with SailPoint ISC and/or IIQ
• Strong understanding of JML, access certification, SoD, and RBAC
• Experience integrating SailPoint with HR systems, AD/Entra ID and SaaS via SCIM/REST
• Proficiency in Beanshell/Java for SailPoint rules and Python for automation
• Knowledge of SAML, OAuth2/OIDC, SCIM
• Experience with ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR or similar compliance mapping
• Proven backlog management and collaboration with product/agile teams
• Strong stakeholder communication and ability to translate technical details for business
• Good project management skills
• Positive, collaborative team player with analytical problem solving
• Nice to have SailPoint certifications; experience with Saviynt/Omada/One Identity; familiarity with Jira/Azure DevOps; exposure to Zero Trust and NIST SP 800-53
