Job Description:

Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation (blue light service)with various locations across Scotland, is currently looking to recruit a Programme Manager for an initial 12 month contract on a rate of £500/day (Outside IR35). This role will be mainly remote working, with potentially the occasional couple of days in the office from time to time.

Responsibilities:

– Lead a nationally significant transformation programme on behalf of the organisation.

– Manage delivery of multiple interdependent workstreams.

– Coordinate activity across all Directorates and operational functions.

– Manage significant capital and revenue programme budgets.

– Report directly to the Programme Board and Senior Responsible Owner.

– Coordinate internal and external resources involved in programme delivery.

– Oversee programme governance, assurance, benefit realisation and transition planning.

Essential Skills:

– Degree-qualified or equivalent relevant professional experience.

– Recognised Programme or Project Management qualification (MSP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, APM PMQ or equivalent).

– Significant experience leading large-scale programmes or complex organisational change initiatives.

– Experience of programme governance and assurance within a large organisation.

– Experience of managing substantial budgets and financial controls.

– Experience engaging with senior executives and external stakeholders.

– Experience of strategic risk and dependency management.

– Experience of supplier and contract management.

– Experience of producing reports and presentations for Board-level audiences.

– Excellent programme and project management skills.

– Strong strategic thinking and analytical ability.

– Excellent communication and influencing skills.

– Strong negotiation and stakeholder management capability.

– Ability to manage competing priorities in complex environments.

– Strong financial and commercial awareness.

– Excellent leadership and team development skills.

Desirable Skills:

– MSP Practitioner qualification.

– Experience of nationally governed programmes.

– Experience of business change and organisational readiness programmes.
