Programme Manager

Overview

In this role you will lead national programmes within PSD Scotland’s Specialist & Screening Services to deliver cancer, diagnostics, SARCS, and fertility network improvements. You will work across NHS boards and partners to commission, performance-manage, and review specialist services while driving complex change programmes. The role emphasises strong stakeholder engagement, governance, and cross-boundary collaboration to meet national priorities. You will contribute to a Once for Scotland approach and help shape person-centred care pathways across health and social care. This is a high-impact, mission-driven opportunity within a newly formed national organisation.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning, performance management and review of national specialist services within the portfolio
• Plan, coordinate and deliver complex programmes and projects using programme management and quality improvement methodologies
• Drive service improvement and organisational transformation across boundaries and with senior stakeholders
• Manage competing priorities and coordination of work with NHS boards and other partners
• Develop and maintain productive relationships with senior stakeholders across organisations
• Ensure governance and reporting standards are met and projects align with national priorities

Key requirements

• proven track record delivering complex programmes, service improvement and organisational change
• experience of NHS management, programme and project delivery, governance and reporting
• strong leadership, influencing and organisational skills
• excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities
• degree level education or equivalent experience
• ability to work across organisational boundaries and travel across Scotland
