OverviewMcGahan Engineering specialises in the design and manufacture of bespoke steel products, predominantly for the quarrying and recycling industries.
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Press Brake Operator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting various operational tasks within our facility, ensuring that processes run smoothly and efficiently. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Salary negotiable depending on experience £35,500 – £40,000 per year
+ Overtime available.
4 day working week with Fridays paid as overtime
Mon-Thurs 7am – 5.30pm
Fri 7am – 1pm (When required)
Duties
- Set up and operate press brake machinery according to specifications and technical drawings
- Adjust machine settings to achieve precise bends and angles in sheet metal components
- Operate machinery and equipment as required, following all safety protocols and guidelines.
- Perform routine inspections of equipment and report any issues to the supervisor.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the work area to promote a safe working environment.
- Ensure Health & Safety is adhered to at all times
Skills
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of assembly processes related to fabricated parts
- Previous experience in a similar role or industry is desirable
