Intersect Global is recruiting for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading Tier 1 civil engineering contractor delivering a long-term programme of water and wastewater projects across Sussex.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor looking for a permanent position with a major infrastructure contractor, offering long-term project security, career progression and the opportunity to work on major AMP8 water and utilities programmes.
The role will be based at the contractor’s Chatham, Kent office, with hybrid working available.
The Role
Reporting to the Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial responsibility for a programme of civil engineering and water infrastructure projects.
You will work closely with the operational and commercial teams to manage costs, maximise project performance and ensure successful commercial delivery.
Key responsibilities will include:
Managing the commercial performance of projects from pre-construction through to final accountCost forecasting and managementValuations, applications for payment and cash flow managementSubcontract procurement and subcontract managementChange management and compensation eventsIdentifying and managing commercial risks and opportunitiesSupporting value engineering initiativesPreparing and maintaining project forecastsManaging WIP and maximising cash flowAgreeing final accountsMaintaining strong relationships with clients and supply chain partnersSupporting tenders, PQQs and other work-winning activitiesWorking closely with the project delivery team to maximise project marginsAbout YouThe successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will have:Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity SurveyorExperience within civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities or the water sectorStrong knowledge of NEC contractsExperience managing the commercial delivery of projectsStrong subcontract procurement and commercial management experienceExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsA relevant Quantity Surveying degree or equivalent qualificationA stable career history and a genuine interest in long-term career progressionWater sector experience, including AMP6, AMP7 or AMP8 frameworks, would be advantageous but not essential .What’s on Offer
