Based in our Belfast office, you will join a collaborative and forward-thinking Management Accounting team that supports Fieldfisher’s offices across the UK and Europe. Through structured training, varied responsibilities and ongoing support, you will develop a strong understanding of management accounting and how high-quality financial insight contributes to the success of an international law firm.

What You’ll Do
Throughout the programme, you will be based within the Management Accounting team, taking on a varied range of responsibilities and building your knowledge and confidence over time.
Your responsibilities may include:
Management Reporting and Month-End
- Assisting with month-end and year-end management accounting processes
- Preparing management information reports and supporting financial reconciliations
- Reviewing data to help ensure financial information is accurate, complete and delivered on time
Budgeting and Forecasting
- Supporting the preparation of budgets and forecasts
- Gathering, validating and analysing financial information from across the business
- Helping to explain variances between actual and forecast performance
Financial Analysis and Insight
- Analysing financial performance, trends and key business drivers
- Producing clear reports and commentary to support commercial decision-making
- Responding to financial queries and highlighting relevant risks or opportunities
Business Partnering
- Working with colleagues across Finance and the wider business to understand their information needs
- Supporting meetings and discussions with budget holders and other internal stakeholders
- Communicating financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance colleagues
Systems, Data and Process Improvement
- Using finance systems, Excel and reporting tools to manage and analyse data
- Supporting improvements to reporting, controls and ways of working
- Contributing to finance transformation and technology initiatives relevant to the team
Professional Development
- Taking ownership of tasks as your technical knowledge and confidence develop
- Building an understanding of the firm’s operations, commercial priorities and financial performance
- Contributing to team projects and continuous improvement activity
Training and Development
You will follow a tailored development curriculum combining technical finance knowledge with broader business and professional skills.

About You
We’re looking for graduates who can bring energy, curiosity, and a passion for learning.
Essential Requirements
- Achieved or be on track to achieve a 2:1 degree (or equivalent)
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Mathematics or a related discipline
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
