THE LEAD DATA ENGINEER ROLE:
As the Lead Data Engineer, you’ll be responsible for designing, building and maintaining scalable data platforms that support business-critical applications. You’ll develop robust data pipelines, optimise data storage and processing, implement best practices around data quality and governance, and work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver reliable, high-performing data solutions. You’ll also provide technical guidance, helping to drive engineering standards and continuous improvement across the data function.
LEAD DATA ENGINEER ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- Commercial experience within a Lead Data Engineer, Senior Data Engineer or Backend Engineering role
- Experience designing and building scalable data pipelines
- Strong knowledge of SQL and database technologies
- Experience working with modern data processing and orchestration tools
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP
- Experience working within agile software engineering environments
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills
