Civil Engineer – Dams/Reservoirs

Overview

As an experienced Dams and Reservoir water management practitioner, you join the Water Catchment Management team to deliver reservoir engineering solutions across the project lifecycle. You will collaborate with major UK reservoir owners and multidisciplinary teams to drive feasibility through detailed design, inspections and reengineering. You’ll mentor peers, foster cross‑discipline ideas, and help ensure safe, quality outcomes for critical dam projects. This role offers impactful work supporting major water infrastructure and ongoing client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Apply dam engineering to appraisal and design of reservoir schemes
• Lead pre-feasibility through detailed design activities
• Mentor colleagues and support their professional development
• Collaborate with multi‑disciplinary teams to develop sustainable solutions
• Support strong client relationships and collaborative delivery
• Ensure health, safety and project quality objectives are met

Key requirements

• Experience in dam and reservoir engineering
• Ambition to become a Supervising Engineer under the Reservoirs Act 1975
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Motivation to deliver high‑quality project outputs
• Commitment to professional and personal development
• Chartered with ICE or ability to demonstrate chartered level
