Senior DevOps Engineer

Overview

In this role you’ll be a senior DevOps engineer at an enterprise-scale cloud services provider in Cardiff. You will lead on multi-cloud initiatives (Azure and AWS), drive automation through IaC, and guide junior engineers within a collaborative, innovation-focused culture. You’ll work on early-stage Generative AI projects and shape scalable cloud delivery. This position offers a clear path for growth, strong compensation, and a hybrid 50/50 schedule.

Responsibilities

• Manage public cloud services at enterprise scale (Azure or AWS)
• Lead and mentor junior DevOps engineers
• Own delivery with technical leadership and accountability
• Develop and maintain IaC (Terraform) for infrastructure provisioning
• Oversee GitLab CI/CD workflows and automation
• Configure and secure cloud networking, DNS, and VPN solutions
• Stay current with cloud tech (serverless, AI) and contribute to innovation initiatives
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver cloud solutions

Key requirements

• Strong experience with public cloud (Azure or AWS) at enterprise scale
• Terraform/IaC experience for provisioning
• Experience leading and mentoring engineers
• Technical leadership and delivery responsibility
• Broad experience across Cloud, Infra, Development, Delivery
• GitLab for CI/CD workflows
• Networking knowledge (cloud networking, DNS, secure VPN)
• Eligibility for SC Clearance (5 years in the UK, no criminal record)
