Security Engineer II, Traffic Quality, Traffic Quality

Overview

In this role you help protect advertiser trust by detecting and mitigating ad fraud and invalid traffic at scale. You will work within the Security Engineering team of Traffic Quality to uncover emerging threats and build robust defenses. You’ll apply advanced reverse engineering, network analysis, and threat hunting to reduce losses from IVT. You’ll collaborate across Amazon security teams and product groups to share intelligence and advance detection techniques. This position offers the chance to shape security across a global advertising platform.

Responsibilities

• Targeted threat hunting, including on the dark web, to stay updated on fraud patterns
• Develop and apply sophisticated mitigation techniques via reverse engineering and network signatures
• Collaborate with Amazon security teams to share intelligence and create durable detections
• Identify and mitigate botnets with internal teams and ethical hacking communities
• Proactively partner with product and security teams to surface problems and propose solutions
• Influence leadership to raise security standards and protect advertiser trust
• Work across security domains to address unknown and emerging threats

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent
• Knowledge of HTTP, DNS, and TCP/IP
• Experience programming in Python, Ruby, Go, Swift, Java, .Net, C++ or similar
• Passion for reverse engineering, malware analysis, threat detection and risk hunting
